Comparison with Costume

The costume used in this photo is very effective , it allows you to see deeper into the ' stepfathers' role . Due to the casual wear he has on , it demonstrates that ' anyone can be a killer ' which presents feat to the audience , and almost juxtaposes with the fear of the unknown as you know the perosn quite well. The shirt he has on is grey and is covered in sweat which shows that he has been working hard with killing or other brutal activities. The colours grey and black are very much dull, dark colours that both have connotations with death and evil , this is vital and it shows mthe death inside the movie. Finally the use of casual wear with a brutal killer presents fear due to knowing that anyone can be a killer.

This is the sort of look we are going for , for our character. This links with the stepfather as they both have a well groomed casual look about them , that you would not link with a killer. The sunglasses are not that relevent but we thought it makes him seem more serious and more chilled out in a way again which could suggest that he does not care about the killings. With him being in a suit and him throwing around dead bodies it goes against the typical actions of not getting your suit dirty. Wtih him being in a suit it shows that he could be very clever, but also we want hi m to look very nice and kind as this will cause people not to be scared of him until they confront him. This is linking again with stepfather and he is a very well groomed mna which allows him to get with woman that have children and then commit the killings.
